Jakarta Toys Fair 2025 : Coming Soon!
This year, the event is happening earlier in February, unlike previous years when it was held in March. Although the reason for this change is not entirely clear, I personally assume that the event was scheduled before the start of the fasting month. This is because fasting begins at the end of February, and Eid falls on March 31st. If JTCF were held after Eid, it would likely be postponed until late April or early May. Considering the number of events lined up by @jakartatoysfair, moving it forward makes sense to keep it close to the 2024 event. Additionally, post-Eid recovery usually takes about a month, which would disrupt preparations for the event.
Now, Let’s Focus on Preparations.
Have I prepared new toys for 2025? Possibly, as Kaia will definitely be my main focus. In addition to the original color, I’m planning to create a limited edition of Kaia. For sure, the color scheme will align with the Jakarta Toys Fair 2025 theme, as seen in the image above—red and black. Coincidentally, these are my favorite colors, and they’re also the favorite of my idol, Machine56. I’m sure Kaia in a Machine56 outfit could become a highlight at the event. That’s the update on toy preparations.
On the other hand, I have some good and bad news. The Jakarta Toys Fair 2025 booth spots from IDS haven’t been announced yet. The issue is that the booths for the event are already fully booked, and if I want to participate, I’ll be put on the waiting list. I had inquired about this last month, but by the time I got an answer, all spots were already taken. It seems I was a little too slow to secure a spot (sigh).
Let’s Talk About Booth Details.
There’s some bad news for those looking to rent booths this year. The price has increased from IDR 4,750K to IDR 5,500K. Whether it’s due to inflation or the 12% VAT increase, the booth price has gone up by IDR 800K (sad). What’s more concerning is that I personally worry about the impact of the 12% VAT increase, which may make collectors and Designer Toys fans hesitate to purchase. However, I hope these worries are just in my head, and that this issue won’t dampen our collective enthusiasm. Let’s keep the excitement alive for the world of toys! See you there!
